Cold can cause constriction of the airways. The most common is throat cramps, manifested by a feeling of pressure in the throat, sometimes with a slight numbness of the tongue.

This is a fairly common symptom in cold allergies, less often the airways react to low temperatures with bronchospasm.

In such a case, you should immediately go into a warm room or at least
If this happens, go immediately into a warm room, or at least cover your nose and mouth with a scarf.

Breathe only through your nose, never through your mouth. If this situation occurs regularly, see an allergist before a cold allergy manifested by difficulty in breathing develops into bronchial asthma.

Conjunctivitis may occur as a reaction to the cold, but just like skin reactions, it is temporary: in the cold your eyes turn red, watery, and itchy, while in a warm room these symptoms disappear.

Conjunctivitis cannot be entirely attributed to allergic reactions — it is simply the frost and a sharp breeze are natural irritants that cause the nasolacrimal duct to narrow.

This causes the resulting moisture to not have a normal outflow, and instead of flowing into the nasopharynx, it rolls over the edge of the eyelid.

— Eye drops that have a soothing effect can help with cold conjunctivitis, but they should be prescribed by your doctor.

Equally effective are infusions of certain medicinal herbs. For example, decoction of caraway seeds or blue cornflower flowers is good to use as a prophylactic — thoroughly filtered decoction should be put into the eyes 2-3 times a day, the better a few hours before going outdoors.

— With cold conjunctivitis it is not recommended to wear lenses and color eyelashes.

— The main advice is to keep your head always warm, do not go out in the street without a warm hat, and a hat should always cover your forehead.

— Try not to drink cold drinks, if you can go out in the next hour or two.

Cold rhinitis

Runny nose as a reaction to low temperatures outside is a common occurrence for many. Rhinitis — one of the most common manifestations of allergies to cold air.

— To prevent it you should drop any anti-allergy drops into your nose 10-15 minutes before you go out in the open air.
In the nose any drops against allergies. But vasoconstrictors
From runny nose with a cold rhinitis are contraindicated — after a slight relief drops lead to increased symptoms.

— As an ambulance on the street you can apply a spot massage: the sides of your thumbs, place the base of the fingers on the wings of the nose and make a rapid clockwise rotation movement for 1.5-2 minutes.

Then for 30 seconds, use the pads of your middle, ring finger and little finger on the area under the eyes from nose to ears, alternating stroking and rubbing.
