Bursitis is a purulent inflammation of the periarticular mucous membrane of the bag, accompanied by increased formation and accumulation of exudate in its cavity.

Bursitis in the clinical course can be acute, subacute, chronic recurrent; by the nature of the exudate — serous, serous-fibrinous, purulent, purulent-hemorrhagic; by the nature of the pathogen — nonspecific or specific (gonorrheal, brucellosis, tuberculosis, syphilitic); as well as aseptic and infected.

The cause of bursitis is unknown. In many cases, it is preceded by sprains, trauma, severe contusion.

In the initial stages of the disease, to reduce pain, as a rule, it is enough to prescribe aspirin or paracetamol to the patient, provide the joint with peace and after 2-3 weeks its condition will return to normal. In advanced cases, it is possible that surgical intervention may be required.

As for the traditional methods of treatment, firstly, a bath with hay dust (leaves and flowers that remain under the removed hay heaps). Pour 500-600 g of hay dust with a bucket of cold water, bring to a boil, leave for 45 minutes, strain and pour into the water prepared for the bath. The procedure takes 10-12 minutes at a temperature of 37-38 ° C.

You can make compresses with hay dust. Boil the dust for 30 minutes and put it hot on the sore joint.

It is very good to drink with acute bursitis the anti-inflammatory infusions of St. John’s wort, burdock or yarrow.

They prepare them like this. 1-2 tbsp. Pour tablespoons of raw materials with a glass of boiling water, leave for 30 minutes, strain, dilute with boiled water in a 1: 1 ratio and drink 1/2 cup 3 times a day. The course of treatment is 10-12 days. From the same infusions, heating them to body temperature, you can make compresses.
