It all started after a fun-filled summer picnic, where there was a lot of meat, smoked meat, spicy sauces and, of course, alcohol … In the morning I was awakened by a sharp pain in the big toe.

He is not only sick, but also acquired a bluish color, swollen. Yes, and the temperature soared serious — 38 degrees!

I thought I hit my foot somewhere. And the temperature is what was swimming in the lake. In a couple of days, everything passed. I already forgot about it. But after a while similar symptoms were repeated, then again and again … The joint changed and deformed. On the auricles appeared whitish nodules. They opened. Of these, white «porridge» stood out.

Soon the knee hurt. Well, I had to go to the doctor. A blood test for uric acid showed that it is significantly higher than normal. Other blood counts, urinalysis and x-ray of the joints showed that the inflammation is quite strong. And now gout is diagnosed. That is, the precipitation of crystals of uric acid in the joints and soft tissues.

The doctor explained that people with gout, who, like me, are overweight, are at risk of metabolic syndrome. This increases the likelihood of heart disease and stroke.

But it turns out that not only alcohol and food brought me to gout. But some drugs, such as analgin for a headache, aspirin — for colds and others …

I did not want to be an invalid. So I decided to follow all the doctor’s recommendations. On the other hand, he started looking for recipes of traditional medicine.

First, propyl course of medicines for the relief of acute attacks of gout — inflammation and pain decreased.

Seriously I took the weight loss:

I started doing fitness. I changed my menu dramatically. Excluded red meat (beef, pork and lamb), liver, kidneys, meat soups and broths. Under the prohibition of seafood (sardines, herring, eggs, tinned tuna, shrimps, scallops and mussels). Has ceased to use products containing yeast (beer, bread, pastries). But a welcome guest at my table started dairy products and vegetables, especially eggplant.

Drinking plenty of clean water, up to 2 liters per day, but the alcohol is completely ruled out. Water and soft drinks help remove uric acid from the body. An even better effect is given infusions and decoctions. For example, nettle juice taken at 1 h. Spoon 3 times a day.
Or, 2 tbsp. chopped birch leaves pour 2 cups boiling water and boil for 10 minutes, I give it brew for half an hour, filter and drink 1/4 cup 3 times a day with meals.

For pain relief to the sore spot I applied a lotion, as well as being applied rubbing. For example, a handful of marigold flowers crushed into mush, pour 1 tbsp. spoon of vinegar, add 1 h. spoon of iodine. First oiled bumps bile chicken or duck (alternating between them), and then rubbed vinegar-rubbing iodine.

I very much liked the herbal bath:

200 g of sage leaves pour 1.5 liters of boiling water and insist 2 hours, strain and pour into the tub. The residence time in the bath — 15-20 minutes.

Or here’s a simple recipe: oat straw cook for 30 minutes, cooled to a pleasant temperature, keep the legs in the broth for 20-30 minutes.

That’s how I «escaped» from gout. Over time, the joints almost returned to normal, the pain is no longer bother.
